Martha Stewart Weddings-Our Wedding

It's officially out! The Summer 2011 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings has hit the stands. I could not be more pleased with how they portrayed our wedding. The article captures our love story and our wedding day in such a sweet way and the photos are gorgeous! We put so much heart and thought into our wedding, it is so wonderful to see it recognized in such a beautiful way-especially all of the crafty projects I spent sleepless nights obsessing over! I am still in shock that Martha Stewart is now telling people how to recreate those same projects-PINCH ME NOW. None of this cuteness would've been possible without my crafty sidekick and wedding planner extraordinaire, Emily Kelly. She was a dream to work with. She completely got the vibe we were going for and brought so much to the table, we would've been lost without her. The best part, we felt like we were hanging out with a cool friend, not a wedding planner! As I posted a few days ago, she just launched a new stationary line u+u, so brides to be, go check out her adorable wedding suites!

Oh Happy Day!

I received my box of Martha Stewart Weddings magazines in the mail today.  I am over the moon excited, it was like Christmas, but BETTER. The Martha Stewart team did an amazing job of capturing our special day. Go to your nearest news stand to check it out, it's a whopping 10 pages and features Nell's Compass! I will be back on Monday to share photos. Have a lovely holiday weekend!

I love you Charlie.

The Magic Castle

I'm going to Hollywood's famous Magic Castle tonight to celebrate my friend's birthday. How fun to get a bunch of ladies together, get dressed up, and have an evening of cocktails, dinner and magic! Oooohahahahaha! The last time I was there I spotted a man at the bar, around 4'11" in stature, wearing a white tuxedo and I said to my friends, he has to be a magician. Next thing I know, he pulled us aside and did a private slight of hand show for us! It was the highlight for sure. Looking forward to many laughs with the ladies tonight. Happy Birthday Liz!

For the Love of Bakers Twine

I have a strong affinity towards bakers twine. I just love the simplicity of it. These days you can find it in almost any color. I used the navy and white throughout our wedding decor, and I still have a huge spool of it in my office (well, I did buy 3000 yards-oh my!) If you are not needing it in bulk, this etsy shop offers a wide variety of colors in small spools. I will definitely go to Inspire Lovely for my next bakers twine project!

U+U Stationary Design

My friend and wedding planner extraordinaire, Emily Kelly, has teamed up with Audrey over at the adorable paper boutique Urbanic to create U+U, a new stationary line.  Not only is Emily the best wedding planner ever, but she's an incredible designer and created our custom wedding invitations and all of our fun printed materials (to be seen in the summer issue of Martha Stewart Weddings out May 31st!) If you are a bride looking for something original, fun and impeccably designed, look no further. Be sure to check out their amazing website and stay tuned for lots more wedding related posts next week as I'm able to share all of the fun details of our special day! Here are some of my favorite U+U designs...

Sleep

Our trip home from Chicago was delayed and delayed and delayed... I feel like this little one today. So this is Hello. Goodbye. Please excuse me while I go back to sleep.

Heal the Bay

I am thrilled to be helping out with Heal the Bay's annual awards gala tonight. It is a wonderful organization and it should be a really fun event. I'll be spending all day in the sand (the event is on the beach), pray for no wind!

Mexico-Photos

Mexico was unbelievably relaxing and so much fun. It was our friend Jeff's 50th birthday, and he sweetly invited a group of us to join him in celebrating his half century milestone. And celebrate we did! We had amazing food, enjoyed many mango margaritas and got to swim with dolphins! There were hundreds of them, doing flips in the air, and we all jumped in the water as they swam by us. We could even hear them talk when we went underwater! It was a magical experience (and not accurately captured on film.) I know all 11 of us are probably experiencing Mexico withdrawals- no lazy susan at mealtime, no Manuel, no chips and guacamole on demand. Stay strong my friends! Thank you Jeff for inviting us to celebrate with you, we love you and Happy Birthday!!!!!
